Thank you for trying to help I can't see why Donald turner will show up in the list for the Hornby tree I thought the list of people is for the tree you are on?
If I could get on the Turner tree I would expect Donald to be on there and to be able to see him
It looks to me like the names on the 2 trees have been linked together (if their was 2 trees) but not the tree

I've done the search in right hand corner think I'll get in touch with Genes and see if they can sort it

As I say thank you for your help but I'll get in touch with Genes

You can NOT see the Turner tree unless you log in to your other account.

If you're seeing Donald Turner (or Albert Kelly) on your HORNBY tree list, you can see where he fits into the HORNBY tree by clicking on "Search tree" in the top right-hand corner.

Enter his name and click "Search".
Then you'll see him in his place in the HORNBY tree.

But you cannot see the TURNER tree without logging in to the other account.

If you really can't remember the log-in details, then I'm afraid you'll never be able to see the Turner tree.

You can try asking [email protected] if they can help - but I don't think they'll be able to.
They should reply to your email within about 3 to 5 days.

Re the list of names you mention -

Are you looking at your Hornby tree in "List" view? [Yes you are, per your thread above.]

If so, it's just a list of the people on your Hornby tree. If you click on any of those names, nothing happens - it's just a list.

It has no connection to your Turner tree, which is on a different account.

You need to remember the log-in details for the account where you have your Turner tree (and then log in! ) before you can see it.

Does Albert Kelly feature in both trees, perhaps?

I pressed my tree at the top it has pedigree, Ancestors, List I pressed list
thinking that was a list of people in my tree

What did you ‘press’?

You should be clicking on ‘send message’ to try to connect with the tree owner

You can’t see names in your own tree under search member trees

Right I've tried different things but nothing

So I went to list of names I'm thinking that this is a list of names that are on my tree I came across Albert Kelly 1913 which is in my turner tree ? when I pressed it nothing happened ??

Have I got it right the list of names is what is in your tree

Sorry to mither I just can't understand it

No, as Erika and Rambling said, you can only have one tree per account on GR.

I think it should be possible to give yourself (Hornby tree)) permission to view your Turner tree, because the GR system thinks you are two different account-holders.

Then if you looked at your Hornby tree, at the top you could find your Turner tree under "Trees shared with me".

(Or vice versa!)

But you'll have to be able to access both accounts in order to set that up.

Ok Thanks as I say I've not looked at my trees for years I'm thinking it's like ancestry where you can have different tree and they all show when you press trees?

Sylann the second account was probably a free one, but it would have been under a different email address and password.

Sylann

Sylann Report 21 Mar 2020 14:25

Surely that would mean paying for 2 accounts? I'll look at my notes but I only pat for one account
Thank you

ErikaH Report 21 Mar 2020 14:22

To have had two trees, you must have had two accounts

Look for the other tree on your other account
