ErikaH

ErikaH Report 21 Jul 2020 19:46

The death cert is unlikely to make any reference to the burial location, unfortunately

Wasn’t suggesting it would ,but sometimes info on a death cert will point a way

Lancelot is mentioned in the newspapers on this site.

I don't have full access to read what they say, but it is likely to be just reports on the inquest, rather than burial details...... but you never know....

alviegal Report 22 Jul 2020 13:20

I've had a look at newspaper reports on fmp and they are just the results of the inquest held into his death. Poor lad died from septicaemia, secondary to cellulitis of the leg. The cause was probably an abrasion on a small corn on the third toe of his left foot.

Just one of the reports.

In the second case, the evidence showed that Lancelot Hugh Beaver (17), a boarder the Bedford Modern School, complained the headmaster of shivering. was seen by a doctor and sent to a nursing home in order that he might have an operation on his leg. Subsequently he was moved to St Thomas' Hospital where he died.

The school still exists and has an archive section. It is possible that they might be able to help, possibly from an old edition of a school magazine. Link below.

Thanks for all your efforts. I have been in touch with Bedford school and they were most helpful, gave me a lot of information but did not know where he was buried. From the family they think he was buried somewhere in Norfolk

Is it likely that someone, a relative, was buried with him?

Maybe researching later deaths will lead you to information about Lancelot.

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 25 Jul 2020 06:36

If you think he was buried in Norfolk have you found any family connection to the area

It maybe there is a family plot somewhere

Perhaps the parks and cemeteries of the local council for the area can help

By 1929 it was usually municipal cemetery or crematoriums and councils keep excellent records
