Hi , Can anyone help me please, I am really struggling to find out what happened to my great grandma after 1902, As i family were always told that she just left her two children , her husband died of his injuries in 1902 and she just seemed to disappear.Do you know where i would find any records which may explain why she left them and what happened to her?

Annie Alice Piercy (nee Richardson) B.21 July 1872 Holgate London
She married John Edwin Piercy B 1873 - 1902 born in Bethnal Green
They married 31st Oct 1897 in Spitalfields Middlesex

They had 2 daughters
Violet Florence Piercy B1899 in Shoreditch London - D1947 in Cambridge
Gladys Lilian Piercy 4 th July 1900 in Shoreditch London D 1991 in Northumberland.

My grandma and her sister were sent to live in Belchalwell Blandore in Dorset in 1904 with a couple (they were brother and sister ) John Heal and Elizabeth Heal neither of them married ,They lived at Belchalwell Street ,
I have found birth, marriage census for for Annie and their family leading up to 1902 as well as for the couple who bought them up .

I know while her husband was in the infirmary 3rd Sept 1902 Annie , Violet and Gladys were all in London workhouse .
violet was discharged Sept 23 to mitcham school
Gladys was discharged Nov 3rd to archway school, but i have nothing after that regarding Annie,

I did find a a Annie Piercy admission in a London lunacy registrar dated 26th July to 14th Nov 1908 and another 14 Nov in Essex to 7th Oct 18, How can i make sure that this is the Annie i am looking for ,? and if it is where was she after 1918 , i can not find her death either, Hoping someone can help us

Sorry its long but new to this ?

Hi Malyon
Thanks you for helping me , Gladys was my grandma so I have all her information and I found census regarding John heel and his sister who took my grandma and my great auntie in . It’s my grandmas Mam Annie alice who I am trying to find out what happened to her. She was in my grandma life until 1904 then she left them. My great aunt told my grandma that there Mam had done something bad but we don’t know if that was true or the bad thing she is referring to was that she abandoned her children when they were 4 and 6 years old.
Nobody can find anything else about her. I would love to find out why she left her children
. I am wondering if there would be any records from the children’s Society as I believed they had something to do with them going to Dorset.
It would great to be able to get some answers for Gladys only remaining child

I had thought of that but I have also found 2 entry’s for lunacy asylum. One in London from 26th July to 14 th nov 1908 in London then another one from 14 th nov until 7th oct 1918 in Essex. It could be her , there is not enough information on the admission, if it had her date of birth it would of helped, is there any other records that you know of that would give me more info on asylums .thanks for helping <3
