MY 2 x great grandad was Cephas Hanson born 1803 in sowerby bridge Yorkshire. HE was married to Sarah Lumb. Has anyone any information on Cephas, I seem to have come to a dead end. THankyou

You'll probably need to visit/contact the appropriate Records Office for possible baptism, which would give a father's name - if he was legitimate, or a mother's name, if not.

The marriage image isn't online - so can't check witness names for possible clues

Presumably you ar trying to work backwards and find his parents?

No parents' names on the Banns record.

His occupation looks like "weaver band".
Both were "of Sowerby in this parish".

There are lots of other Hansons in that churchyard, but no gravestones showing relationship to Cephas.

None of them is Henry, Martha, or Thomas as in the baptism posted by safc.

Three show no first name - two died pre-1800, one died 1840.
