Is there any documentary backup to support the suggestion that he served in the Boer War - or in the forces at all?

Dates for second boar war

11 October 1899 – 31 May 1902

He married in 1899 and had two children by 1902 so unlikely he was in the boar war

Thanks Erica. We did wonder about that :-)
We were led to believe he was in the Boer War which was earlier.

Please could you tell me where I would find this info.? ;-)

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 18 Oct 2020 22:17

If he served, and his records survived, they will be online,. Born in 1872, he’d have been quite old even for WW1. Only about 30% of WW1 records exist
