Welcome to the boards.

I'm afraid it's unlikely that anyone will be able to find anything more about him.

As there's no documentary evidence of his birth/baptism, there's no way to know his parents' names.

The parish record of his marriage doesn't mention his father's name, either.

Arthur McGrath
in the Ireland, Catholic Parish Registers, 1655-1915
Name: Arthur McGrath
Gender: Male
Event Type: Marriage
Marriage Date: Jun 1845
Marriage Place: Clonmellon, Ireland, Ireland
Parish Variants: Killalon, Killan, Killon
Diocese: Meath
Spouse: Cathe Gibney

Witnesses: Charles Smyth and Mary Reilly.

Also, there are no Irish census records for the period of his lifetime.
(I know there are bits from 1821, 1831, 1841, and 1851, but not much, and he's not on them, anyway.)

How do you know he was born in Oldcastle?

My great grandfather Arthur Magrath was born in Oldcastle around 1809, I don’t have Parish record on his birth as records were missing for that period. I have details of his marriage to Catherine Gibney in 1845 in Clonmellon Westmeath and his death details from 1894 also in Clonmellon. I have details of their 4 sons James John William and My grandfather Arthur. Catherine died in 1864 aged 40 she lost 2 of her sons in that year. I would love more details on my great grandfather Arthur.
