	Your post is confusing. What was the child’s birth surname? Have you looked for info on freebmd to get some factual info? If you find a birth registration, use that info when you add yourself to the National Adoption Contact Register, which would be your best course of action No-one on here can help with finding adopted people.

	I'm not clear whether this is New Zealand ? Have you checked the SEARCH option on this site to see if your brother's birth name is included in anyone's tree?

	Good point...........never crossed my mind! Assumed it was England. Never assume...lol
