Thanks everyone. I can`t remember where I found the dates as I have been going back over old research on Ancestry, Family Search and Find My Past as sometimes new things get added. I will keep looking and maybe I will find what I want later.

Elizabeth's is a little clearer on the original - Lidger ult Agate

Whilst looking around, it may be possible that alt / ult is actually als and perhaps short for alias

None of the other names you mention appear either on or close to that date at Throwleigh or elsewhere in available records.

Where did you get the information that they all died/were buried on the same day?

Perhaps the Devon Archives could help?

they could have died in a fire

The records you have found will be burial records - they didn't necessarily all die on the same day.

Could have been any of these rife illnesses - and they didn't necessarily all die of the same one:

Three members of one family in my tree (mother and both her sons) all died of TB within one month in 1868.

As there were no death certificates at this time there is no real way of knowing.

The parish register may have a note on it there were a number of deaths at the same time.

You may need to investigate whether there was an epidemic at the time.
