Find Ancestors

Trying to trace some Indian family members, who came to England in the 50's. Little is know about this side of the family, we do know that my hubby's grandfather was called Moses Daniel Sampson and the Sampson was dropped (maybe during the war) and he became Moses Daniels. His wife Marjorie as known to me, I have found a record in the Indian site for a baptism of one of the children, but there were four in total. Marjorie may have been written as Margareta and the surname may have been either Augustus or Augustus Stromberg, born 1910 or 1911 maybe. Moses Daniels may have originally been called Moses Daniel Sampson and the Sampson being dropped to become Moses Daniels. Hope this makes sense. Moses born approx 1910. The ship they came on puts Marjorie's birth around 1913/14

So Margareta/Marjorie Augustus or Augustus Stromberg married Moses Daniel/Sampson in India we believe

Confused.com to be honest. This is all recent information that has come about so will need to change my tree!

A tree on Ancestry - though this is possibly yours?? Tree owner 4627Kaz -

says Ronald David Anthony Daniels was born 27/1/1939, married Margaret Joan Field in London in 1961, and died in Cyprus 24/1/2008.

The only proof offered of any of that is the marriage record.

Parents: Marjorie Stromberg, born 1913 India, died Berkshire (no date). No proof of anything.
Moses Daniels, born 1910 India, died London (no date). No proof .


Ronald is the only child mentioned.

Ronald was my husbands father,
Patricia and Jeffrey have both passed.

Marjorie passed away in the 90's but we are checking on the year

Wondered when the surname changed from Sampson to Daniels

Philomena Diana Sampson baptism was found with parents Daniel or Jew Sampson and Margareta as parents - her date of birth shown is also correct, although when coming to England, the middle name was used.
