Erika - did you sneak something extra in to your post of 16.32?

If Henry is the son of Catherine then possibly this is his birth 15/4/1808 baptised later at St Clement Danes, son of Joseph Porter and Catherine.

Probably right.

There are several OldBailey entries in Ancestry for Henry Webb Porter with mother mentioned as Catherine.

Also looks like William Henry Webb Porter may have been a naughty boy.

There is another entry for the baptism on the day of his birth at StJames, clerkenwell.
Same parents, Father is. An office clerk and it looks as though the address is. 20 Whiskins st (on Ancestry)

There are trees on ancestry suggesting that this is the marriage of a William Henry Webbe Porter and that he dropped the Porter before his marriage but there is nothing to verify this.

The article above says that WH's grandfather Henry, who was Sir Henry's cousin, met with a fatal accident soon after Sir Henry's death so did not inherit.
"It is however not likely the title will again be assumed owing to the democratic proclivities of the subject of our sketch."

WH had a volume containing the family history dating from the 14th century,
