She didn't give accurate age info in 1901, and lied about her 'status' ....................................so goodness knows what other info is wrong

Age at death is only as accurate as what the informant believes to be true.
In 1901 her YOB is given as 1854.
In 1891 it's given as 1853.
In 1881 it's 1852.
In 1871 and 1861 it's given as 1851.

As all her daughters are still in one household in 1911, but she's not with them, it seems likely that she had died.

I am not 100pc certain with the 1947 death but it fittered her birth thats why I put it on here
On the 1939 Register I put in Sarah Ann Shaw born 1851 also Sarah Ann Knifton born 1851 but nothing comes up.

It would help if you posted (C&P) the 1901 to which you refer

She wouldn’t have married Lewis - he died before her husband, and divorce was out of reach for the vast majority of people

Clearly, she lied when calling herself a widow in 1901

Where is Sarah in 1911 ?

May be she married again after 1901 ......

You need to make certain that the 1947 death is hers.

JFM 1947 aged 95…..NOT 96, which fits with the birth date you give

What criteria are you inputting when searching 1939 register?

I have a Sarah Ann Dexter born 12th August 1851 who married a John Knifton 28th November 1870 at Codnor Parish.John was born 1844 & died 1905.I have his details on the 1891/1901 census

On the 1881 Census living with them is a Lewis Shaw born 1848 died 1898.
Sarah Ann & Lewis become an item & have children Martha Ann 5th January1883 died 1956 Elizabeth born 1886 died 1943.
1901 Sarah Ann Shaw is a 47 year old Widow living at Wheatshed.

I have never been able to find a marriage for Sarah Ann To Lewis Shaw.

I believe that Sarah Ann died in 1947 at Mansfield aged 95/96

I am trying to find her on the 1939 Register but not having any luck.
Any suggestions?
