Is there anyone here who has access to the 1921 census and would be kind enough to look a few people up for me please.

I'm looking for,
George Johns b. 1902 pocklington, yrks
Arthur Johns b. 1909 Pocklington

John William Lee b. 1871
Elizabeth Lee b. 1880 Highgate, yrks
William Lee b. 1917 Leyburn
Sarah Alice Lee b. 1919 Leyburn
Robert Lee

Many thanks.

John William and his family are at Bellerby, Leyburn in 1921.

You can find this on a free search on Findmypast. However it costs £3.50p to see the image and £1.75p to see the transcription so I don't think anyone could afford to buy the images for you.

I can't see George and Arthur Johns around the Yorkshire area but the names are quite common so they could be anywhere.

Thank you for that info

ArgyllGran Report 4 May 2022 14:20

Huggate, Yorkshire, England
Yorkshire (North Riding)

Elizabeth's with John William, William , and Sarah Alice , and also Arthur Johns 1906 Pocklington.

Perhaps that's the Arthur 1909 whom you mention?? Elizabeth's son, brother of George.
There are lots of mistranscriptions in 1921 census.

Robert Lee wasn't born until 1922.

ArgyllGran Report 4 May 2022 14:35

??? Maybe George with wrong birthplace in transcription ??

Durham, Durham, England
Yorkshire (North Riding)

He's with William Harrison 1870, James William Harrison 1909, Caroline Harrison 1907, Charles Harrison 1920, Clara E Harrison 1917, Frederick Harrison 1904, Harold Harrison 1914, Mary Harrison 1877, Rodwell Harrison 1911.

There's also 1 other person with them, whom I haven't found yet - I can't look at the full transcription without paying..

You don’t have to be a subscriber to search the 1921 census. Anyone can do it. All transcriptions and images have to be paid for - even by FMP subscribers.

ErikaH Report 4 May 2022 14:52

A slight correction to earlier info. Transcriptions cost £2.50 - not £1.75 as stated above

ArgyllGran Report 4 May 2022 14:56

Presumably you know that in 1911 George, Arthur, and Elizabeth were in the workhouse?:

George Johns
in the 1911 England Census
Name: George Johns
Age in 1911: 9
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1902
Relation to Head: Inmate
Gender: Male
Birth Place: Huggate, Yorkshire, England
Civil Parish: Pocklington
Country: England
Registration District Number: 518
Sub-registration District: Pocklington
ED, institution, or vessel: 07
Piece: 28486
Elizabeth Johns 32
George Johns 9
Arthur Johns 2

[and many others ]

ErikaH Report 4 May 2022 14:57

There is an Arthur Johns supposedly born 1906 in Pocklington In Leyburn in 1921. NO matching birth
John William, Elizabeth and 2 others are on this record

For £2.50, you can see the info in full

Or, by juggling, as I just have, find that the others on the record are all named LEE. Elizabeth, John William, Sarah Alice and William

It isn’t difficult to manipulate results, if you use advanced search

ArgyllGran Report 4 May 2022 15:01

Names of other people (ie - the Lee family) with Arthur already posted - though no address, as I'm not paying to see the transcription.

ErikaH Report 4 May 2022 15:05
