I am trying to trace this fella for a acquaintance but not having any luck. I have tried Ancestry,FMP and CWGC so can someone take a look please.
I have his birth 1892 in Sproughton, Suffolk.
The next time I can find him is on the 1911 census with his family at Fairfield House, Biggleswade,Bedfordshire . He is a Railway Porter and as far as I know it is with GNR. He was apparently a WW1 casualty but I cannot find this on any site.
Thank you

How does your friend know that he was a WW1 casualty?

There are deaths of a couple of men named E Haywood on the CWGC site, but giving no age nor names of relatives, so impossible to know if they are, or aren't, the man you're interested in - or even what the first name is.

E HAYWOOD
Private
Service Number: 36045
23rd (Tyneside Scottish) Bn.
Northumberland Fusiliers
United Kingdom
Died 20 January 1918
BUCQUOY ROAD CEMETERY, FICHEUX
II. F. 14.
France

E HAYWOOD
Gunner
Service Number: 54384
57th Bty.
Royal Field Artillery
United Kingdom
Died 04 November 1916
GUARDS' CEMETERY, LESBOEUFS
X. Y. 2.
France

[ But on the Burial Return form on the CWGC site, this man's name is shown as Hayward, not Haywood.]

He is researching the GNR WW1 casualties and that is all I know. I should have said he is an acquaintance not a friend met through our History Society. I will change this on my original post.
His birth says Hayward which I looked for but not Haywood

The name of the man who died in 1916 seems to vary between Haywood and Hayward.

Haywood again here:

Ernest Haywood
in the UK, World War I Service Medal and Award Rolls, 1914-1920

Rank: Gunner

ADDED:

BUT he's not the man you're looking for.
This man had sisters Kate, Blanche, Mary (Mrs David), and Ada (Mrs Kenyon), a brother Leslie, and a sister-in-law Jessie, according to the Register of Soldiers' Effects..

I think I have found a death in 1913 which is more than likely him. This fella was a railway worker but died on the Railway line not in the war. All the family names fit as does the address for his father that matches with the 1911 census.

Thank you so much for your help it is very much appreciated .If you had not pointed out the spelling I would probably never have found him
