Hello Community,
I wonder if I can ask for more help re the man above,
I cannot find him at all in the 1901 census. He was born in Fulham London, and I can find him on all the other census
but 1901 is proving to be a struggle. Thanking you
Ann

The Blairgowrie Cemetery record posted above has a photo of Margaret's gravestone attached - but there's no stone for Frederick.

As the record says 1916-19, presumably he's one of the several F (or Frederick) Willises on the CWGC website without any identifying info.

Don't know where the dates for Frederick came from, as they're not on the stone.

"Scotland, Burial Monument Inscriptions, 1507-2019" records are only from inscriptions on stones, with no info from elsewhere.

He's not on the Blairgowrie war memorial, so couldn't have been living in the area pre-war:

I don't think Margaret died in Scotland - at least not as Willis. If she died as Turnbull, it wasn't in Perthshire.

That is really deceptive. This is his death in 1955. I looked at the D/C and it is definitely the correct man.

I saw that 1955 death, but was led astray by the Blairgowrie cemetery record.

Well done for following it up, Alviegal.

I can only think he was in the Boer war but absolutely no indication that he was :-(

Looking at the image of the gravestone shows it to be Margaret's - Frederick's name is on it only as her husband
There is nothing to support Ancestry's transcription giving his death as being between 1916 and 1919, as has already been demonstrated by the finding of the correct DoD

By 1901 she's not with her parents and siblings.
I don't see her in 1901 or 1911, so far.

And still can't see Frederick in 1901.

Probably Frederick's house - though without hot tub , fridge/freezer, dishwasher, etc, in those days!

Thank you all for helping me re Frederick C N Willis
but its still a mystery as to where he was in 1901?
Boer War perhaps as some one has suggested.
Best Regards, Ann

Looked at Boer War records on FMP....only one Frederick Willis, and not the one who is the subject of this enquiry. Does not exclude the possibility that he served - merely that his info (if relevant) hasn't been transcribed
