Stuck at 1647 John PLACKETT of Ratcliffe on Soar; found: 1 Anth(ony?) BLACKETT alias PLACKETT of Galtres Forest York (signed deafforestation order [Kew]), poss. associated with the BLACKETTs of Northumberland, Matfen & Agincourt? Meaning the family came down from the North through York, Nottingham to Northampton/Breaston/Derby and/or: 2 Piere PLAQUET of a Huguenot family in London, baptised 16th Nov 1628 in London [London Parish Registers]. Meaning the family travelled North to Northampton/Nottingham/Derby etc. There is no confirmed link between BLACKETT & PLACKETT other than the one reference above. There appears to be few if any PLAQUETs at all - meaning they may well have changed their name. No PLAQUETs apparent in 1881 census. Some PLAQUETs appear to have gone to America (Port Plaquet, LA) and some the Belgium - there are still some in each country today. Who can help? Tony Plackett
