Grandparents I never knew, were living in Dulwich, SE London at the turn of last century (1900's). Their names were: JOHN PAYNE MOORE & his wife GRACE ELLEN MOORE (nee JONES). He was a Civil Service Telegraphist. They had the following children: JOHN VINCENT, DOROTHY, REGINALD CLAUD, MILDRED ALICE GWENDOLINE, & THOMAS. "Gwen" was to become my mother. She became estranged from her family in the mid-1920's and never mentioned them to either myself or my father. We believed her to be an orphan, but BMD's have proved differently. I am anxious to hear from anyone who might have known this Dulwich family, or who might recognize any of the above names. Originally, this MOORE line hailed from Wolverton, Bucks., and were employed by the railway there. By 1891, the younger members were drifting towards London. I'd be interested in any MOORE's living in Dulwich, Peckham, Lordship Lane, or other areas of southeast London. Thank you. [email protected] |
