I am trying to locate my daughter who due to unfortunate circumstances, I had to give up for adoption. Her name on her birth certificate was Samantha Annette Colbourne, born o n 20th February 1967.Of course her name may well have been changed so this is really a shot in the dark! The adoption was through the London Borough of Sutton Childrens Department and the final consent was either the end of November or beginning of December of the same year. Obviously for legal reasons I have no way of gaining any information - so I just thought after reading "success stories" in the Daily Mail only yesterday 25th March, I would have a go through this site. She has a brother and sister who would dearly love me to find her, so they can make some contact, even if she feels that now after all this time, perhaps she wouldn't want to contact me. Her brother's name is Paul Harris and can be contacted on "[email protected] and her sister's name is Amanda Harris and can be contacted on "[email protected]. Anyway all I can do is try. These days there are so many women like me who are in this situation due to the way things were in the 60's. You would only have to watch "Kilroy" (when it was on!) to see just how many of us were forced to make these decisions for one reason or another. Fortunately things have changed very much for the better in this day and age. I look forward greatly to receiving any information that might help!
