LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION ON my grandfather John Hill, who disappeared in December 1916. Had been given compassionate leave from infantry regiment to return to County Antrim to visit wife, Mary Devlin, who was dying of consumption. They had two children, John and Mary- Jane. Following the death of his wife, John Hill left his in-laws farmhouse and was never heard of again. Suspected to have gone AWOL and returned to his mother's home in Glasgow (possibly David Street Glasgow) though this is only speculation. No telegram or war pension ever received for children, so presume he survived war.
