I am looking for any information about George Baker, musician, born c 1835 and his wife Catherine/Caroline? c 1837. They emigrated from Germany and lived in Derby. They had 2 daughters, Caroline b 1871 and Elizabeth b 1873 who married Thomas Harlow and carried on living in Derby. After the death of Catherine nee Fink, George went onto marry his housekeeper Julia Cooper from Ireland. George died in 1909. I would be grateful if anyone could add any information to the above. I am particularly interested in finding out where they came from in Germany, and when. George's father's name was Phillip (maybe with a German version of Baker, ?Becker) With thanks. |
