I am researching my Great Grandfather, WILLIAM HENRY CLARK, born in Leeds, West Yorks in 1883.His fathers name was GEORGE CLARK George came from HOWDEN in East Yorks. William was married to JANE ELIZABETH SELBY in 1907 at St Agnes and St Stephens Church at BURMANTOFTS IN LEEDS and had 3 sons, ERNEST(my Grandfather), HERBERT AND LESLIE. I believe Leslie married a lady known as Dot ( Dorothy?) and they had children, one of whom was a son, possibly called John. William, who was a mechanic by trade, died in March 1929 aged 44, possibly as a result of wounds suffered during WW1. It is possible he was gassed. Jane or 'Jinny' died in August 1961 aged 75 and is buried with William at Harehills cemetary in Leeds. I believe William had a sister called Ada who was a witness at his wedding, and who married Jane Elizabeth Selby's brother, Fred in 1908. Any help or information about these people would be much appreciated. Jonathon Clark |
