Trying to find living relatives of my grandmother's cousins .... Her uncle, JOHN WILSON m MARY LEIGH St Stephen's Tockholes 1862 Their children were HANNAH b 1866 & JOHN b 1870 HANNAH WILSON married JOSEPH SAXON (or Jackson) 1886 in Blackburn. The children I know about are ETHEL SAXON b 1887, MAUD b 1889, HANNAH b 1891 & FLORENCE b 1894. At the time of the 1901 census they were living at 122 Bolton St CHORLEY Lancs. Their father's occupation was Grocer & Licensed Victualler. .......................... JOHN WILSON married BEATRICE NORRIS (or Norse?) Blackburn in 1890 The children in 1901 were MARY J WILSON b circa 1892, HANNAH WILSON b circa 1894 & EDWIN WILSON b circa 1900. At the time of the census they were living in the Livesey area (Shorrock Lane) and their father worked in the paper industry. .................................................................................... My grandmother's aunt was CAROLINE WILSON b circa 1845. She married BENJAMIN KAY at St Stephen's Tockholes in 1864. Their children were LAWRENCE KAY(or Louisa) b 1867, HANNAH KAYb 1870, ALICE KAY b 1872, ELIZABETH KAY b 1876, WILLIAM b 1878 & JANE A KAY b circa 1880. I haven't researched this side of the family beyond 1881, as yet. ................................................... My grandmother's aunt was ELIZA ANN WILSON, b circa 1849. She married HUGH BRINDLE. They had at least 9 children ...... DOROTHY BRINDLE b circa 1872 DENNIS BRINDLE b circa 1873 ALICE JANE BRINDLE b circa 1874 JOHN W BRINDLE b circa 1877 GEORGE BRINDLE b circa 1880 HUGH BRINDLE b circa 1883 CAROLINE BRINDLE b circa 1886 HANNAH BRINDLE b circa 1889 also an 'adopted son' JOHN C BRINDLE b circa 1898 Again I haven't researched all of these children. In 1901 Hugh & Eliza the were living in Sandy Lane Darwen (Blackburn area) with Caroline, George, Hannah John C & John W. I think Dennis was in the Army & was married to Bessie or Betsy Ashthorpe. I think Alice Jane was married to BENJAMIN WHALLEY & in 1901 they had two children RALPH WHALLEY b 1895 & ANN WHALLEY b 1899. (I don't know of any other children) My grandmother was LOUISA WOODBURN b in 1888, she married WILLIAM WILLIAMSON, (he was from Leicestershire) They had 3 sons, Joseph, Harold & JOHN (Jack) my dad. He is 77 & would like to find some living relatives ........ so please contact me if you think any of these people are relatives of yours. He still lives in the Blackburn/Darwen area THANKS |
