Hi I am trying to find any info on the Scott family that lived in Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne. My great, great granddad Thomas Scott born 1854 possibly in Pimlico London, married a Mary Elizabeth Robertson in about 1876. Mary is listed as being born north of Newcastle upon Tyne about 1855. In 1881 they are listed as living at Clumber St Elswick, with the first three of their children, Margaret (1877abt) Thomas (1879abt) Alice (1880abt) They are still living at that address in 1901 and now have five more children, George (1881abt) Alexander (1883) My Granddad James (1885abt) Jennifer (1886abt) Elizabeth (1888abt) At this time Thomas senior, George & Alexander all worked at the Elswick engine works. In 1906 Alexander married an Elizabeth Monica McCartan in Newcastle upon Tyne, but she died after 10 years 1918 saw Alexander remarry my grandmother in derby. Alexander died in 1964. In the late 60’s I recall driving my dad up to see his uncle granddads brother James (wee Jimmy) he was living at or near Bedlington Any help with anybody or anything please |
