I am looking for a Watson family, beginning with John Watson, who married Anne Mapp (from Worcestershire) in 1831 in St Pancras, and then his two sons John (b1832), and Thomas Bailey Watson (b1835) were born in St Pancras. I cannot find John the elder in any of the censuses, and given the boys were the only children, he may well have died pre-1841, so I have no idea where or when he was actually born. My dad seems to think that the family may have originated from Scotland, and has a memory of an 'Uncle Reg' Watson who was Scottish (he thinks born 1860-1880), who was the (head?) chef on the Flying Scotsman in the early 1900s. Does this ring a bell with anyone? This is about the only clue I might have about the family going that far back! Can anyone help me? Thanks - Jo
