Graham Edwards My grandfather William Edwards was a descendant of a line of Edwards all from Aberavon Port Talbot, South Wales. The earliest name I have is Rhys Edward ( no final 's' then, this is an English add on) who lived in the 1700s. Up to my grandfather William they were all bootmakers or, as they got posher and richer, cordwainers(they produced custom made footware from Cordoban leather for the relatively well off). Glad to hear from anyone who thinks they may have links with my family. My grandfather Wiiliam lived from around 1870 to 1960. |
