Hi Bob.
Sorry I haven't been in touch before now,but I have been out of circulation for some time ,due to moving etc.
My Mercy Allen was related to the Allens who had a soft drink works in Congleton,if you think this is the same family,I would appreciate any further info. that you could give me on the family.
Mercy,my grandmother died when my mother was about 10 years old,so I don't know too much about the family.
Cheers George

George

I may have som information on Mercy Allen. I believe she was the daughter of Thomas Allen who was married twice. First to Sarah and later Margaret (Bowden). I believe Mercy was a daughter of Margaret and was born 1851 in Benthall, Cheshire. Thomas had nine children in total but only three with Margaret. Thomas Allen was my G G G Grandfather and the Allens were mostly from Cheshire/Staffordshire area. On particular around Madeley area. Hope this helps.

Regards

Bob Allen
