My grandfather was Alfred Spencer Marshall (not sure of the year but it was before 1900), he had two brothers, Will and Robert (I think) who all emigrated to Hamilton in Canada, in the late 20's (ish). He was married to Vi and they had a son Roy (my day born in 1921). There is a family connection to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and possibly ?South Africa Rifles - but this is vague. Alfred's family returned to England after a couple of years but the others stayed in Canada. They lived in Plumstead SE18 and my great grandmother Jane Marshall kept a shop in Tuam Road. I believe she was scottish. Anyway, if any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to hear from you.
