hi im sure we must be linked...as far as i can go (for now till i recieve birth certs) is my great granmother may alexandre abbott born may 3rd 1910 blackburn no idead mother or fathers name as of yet. they then moved to middlesbrough teesside between then and 1920 when they had arthur abbott and george possibly another child who may have died

Hi Brenda - your tree goes back too far for me. I am an Abbottt, and can trace the line only back to about 1900's where we have no details of my great grandfather. I am fairly new to the site though, so may get lucky soon.
We live in the Bury Area (I commute to Hindley) so it is fairly close, adn will keep an eye open for possible links.
I am Gregory Richard (b1966), my Father is Derek James (b1945) and his father is William (not known), and his father is not known, so there may be light at the end of the tunnel yet.
I am in full time employment, and have a very full homelife, so my time is limited, and updates may not be frequent, but feel free to contact me if you have any other information.

Hi, Looking for the Abbotts in the Lancshire area. Hindley is mentioned, Astley, and a few others, all in the general area. Alice Abbott married Henry Dean. This line being my direct line. They had Walter C. 1869, Samuel Abbott Dean, C. 1870, Thomas, 18 Nov. 1873, Martha A. Dean, C. 1878, and Elizabeth, A. Dean C. 1879 Alice's parents were Samuel Abbott, and Martha Pinnington. they were married 30th of April 1832 in Wigan. Martha was from Westthoughton. Their family consisted of : Ann C. 1836 in Blackburn, and m. unknown. James C. 1839 in Blackburn, and m. Jane ____ of Hindley C. 1858 Mary C. 1841 in Westhoughton, Carles C. 1845 in Hindley, and m. Sarah Parker 16 Mar. 1862 Alice see above. Martha 25 Mar 1853, in Hindley, m. Thomas Short, 26 Oct. 1868 George 16 Mar. 1857 in Hindley, m. Mary C. around 1888 Samuel's parents were James Abbott and Ann______ of the Astley area. Other than Samuel christened on 26 Feb 1804, he had one brother, that we know of named John, who was christened on 27 Dec. 1807 and he married a Mary of Tyldesley area. A lot of info, but don't know much else about this family, and as we live in Canada, we don't really know the area well. Hope someone can be of any help at all. Thank you.
