my grandfather was robert henry anderson born around 1880, hull east yorkshire. He died 1917 in the 1st world war. His father was also a robert anderson, he was from Norway, he spelled his name with andersson, he dropped the s from surname as he thought it looked more british! I have tried in vain for many years to find something on my great grandfather but always a blank at the end of enquiries, I know he worked on the docks in hull and settled there marrying a sarah cassidy from cork in Ireland.
