My name is Stephen Hewitt Evans son of Brian Hewitt Evans whose father died when he was two. I'm starting to trace my grandfather who I believe was Richard Hewitt Evans who married Edith Bowers of Stapleton Nr Shrewsbury, Shropshire in or around 1910. My grandfather I understand came from Mold, Flintshire, North Wales.I believe that following their marrage they lived in Aintree, near Liverpool, where my grandfather worked as a cotton broker on the docks.My father was born in Aintree in 1913.I also understand that my grandfather had a brother who emigrated to America and settled in Boston where his daughter married the son of a wealthy industralist. Whilst just starting to research my grandfather and his family and also that of my paternal grandmother, I would be grateful if anyone is able to offer any assistance with my research. I hope someone out there will will come up with some clues that will help me. Meanwhile, I'll keep on searching. |
