I am trying to find out about my Great Grandfather who was Walter Robert Turner and was born in 1871 in Birmingham. He married Ellen Burgess on April 19 1897 in Birmingham and they then moved to Glenfield st in Glasgow. He was a book gilder. In 1901 they were living with Ellens sister florence and their three children all girls. Lilly, the youngest died aged two. They then went on to have 6 children in total. Robert, william, frederick, ethel, walter (my granddad) and Albert. Ethel, went on to marry an American. I know that Walters father was Robert, but I cant find him on any census, but he was a blacksmith. Can anybody shed any light on Robert who I am presuming was also born in Birmingham, or Ethel who moved to America. Any help would be grateful as I have been stuck for quite a while. Ellen, his wife came back to Birmingham when Walter died with the other children. She died in March 1951.
