Hi Neill,

My family (Jacksons) came from Mellor around the Preston area. Other names in the tree are Grimshaw, Sharples.

I have gone back as far as Matthew Jackson c1815 but the circa you have stated would be a Francis Matthew Jackson c1871.

Ring any bells for you?

My father's mother was a JACKSON,she married an ARTHUR EDWARD PAGE at Clifton Hill on January 5th.1918. Maybe there is a tieup somewhere,if you could give me further details,maybe we could help one another.

My father's MOTHER was a JACKSON,and she married ARTHUR EDWARD PAGE on January 5th.1918 at Clifton Hill,her familt came from HEIDELBERG, I don't know if there is a tie up here or not.
Perhaps you could email me with some further inforemation nad maybe there might be a link.

Jackson - Preston area - circa 1880 - emigrated to South Africa - married to Sarah Crawford nee MacFarlane from Dunoon.. Would like to make contact with anyone who has links to Jacksons in the Preston area. Regards Neill Jackson
