I am trying to find any members from the Roberts Family. My great grandmother was Edith Roberts born 20th August 1867. According to the 1881 Census she was born in St Day Cornwall in England. Her father was John Roberts who was born in Feock in Cornwall. Ediths mother was Elizabeth who was born in Ruan Cormwall. Edith had sisters Catherine,Mary,and Lydia. Brothers were Charles,William,Thomas,Francis and Philip. Edith married James Dixon from Feock in Santiago where James was mining on 16th September 1897. Edith and James were there for 10 years before returning to Cornwall where they had 4 children Nora Kathleen 16/8/1906,Doreen Elana 11/5/1908 (my grandmother ) oscar James 11/4/1910 and Marion Patricia 16/12/1912./ James decided to bring the family to Australia, he came here first and Edith followed with the children. They came on a boat called the Norseman. The settled in Wagga first where they bought a Post Office, later the family moved to the Ermington area in Sydney. Can any one help me find this branch of the Roberts Family from Cornwall Thank You Diane |
