My family tree starts with JOHN HILL (born 1808 and died 1885). I am seeking any information prior. Eg. his parents, any brothers, etc. He was born at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire England on June 3, 1808. At the age of 16 he joined the Royal Navy, then he joined the H.M.S. Buffalo (as a boatswain) on July 27, 1836 and set sail for Australia. He married Mary Anderson on May 14, 1838 in Adelaide, South Australia. Any information regarding his family prior to him setting sail to Australia would be appreciated. His children were William, John, Robert, Thomas Henry (my desendant) and George Edward. |
