WILSON and DYER-WILSON. Living in Newcastle, south Shields area from about 1860 on; three generations of Master Mariners all named JOSEPH DYER WILSON, the youngest being my grandfather, who died before I was born (1940)Married Ethel Mason, had seven children;Allan, Bill, Jean, Bert, Betty, and Ethel (my mother). Lived at one point at Willington Quay. Bill was killed in Italy in 1943 age 40, Bert died in C1969 aged 56, my mother Ethel died 2003 aged 84. Sister Betty was married to a miner, Robert....from Backworth Pit, she died of tuberculosis aged 26. My mother married Jackie Storey from Whitley Bay in 1940 (he died in 1968 from war wounds). Simply NO trace I can find of these DYER-WILSONS, so I have hit the wall!!! Any help appreciated; who knows, you might be a long-lost relative??? |
