I am looking for any relative of Harold May, born in St Helens Liverpool in 1882. He was the youngest of 5 whose parents had died of (we think) influenza. He ran away aged 14 following a family arguement over who would look after him. I know at least one member of the family was emigrating to Canada or America. He joined the army (under age) and fought in the onset of the Boer war as a despatch rider and was badly injured. When they discovered his real age he was discharged. He had various jobs around the country including Castle Blaney in Northern Ireland. he settled finally in Chesterfield where he had 3 surviving sons (2 died) and one daughter. I have tried writing to any Mays in Liverpool but have had no success. I would like to find any relatives or any history as it is my Uncle's 80th birthday this year and he is the only son left.
