Hi, My name is Joan Mitchell Hall (nee Downie). My mother's name was Eunice Ivy Mitchell and her parents were Elizabeth Lilian Mitchell (nee Jones) and William Matthew Mitchell, born in Banffshire, Scotland in 1844. His father's name was Andrew. William went to America for a short while then returned to England and resided in Liverpool. He attended Edinburgh University in about 1866, studying law, languages and art. I do not know whether he had any brothers or sisters. I would appreciate any information as I am trying to put together my family tree on my mother's side. |
