Re : MURDER I found a very interesting Newspaper Report dated 26th March 1833 which I`d like to share with you :- MURDER - Mary Wright, aged 28, was indicted for the murder of her husband, by mixing up with his food a quantity of arsenic. (A very long report, with numerous names, but, interestingly, I cannot find the name of the murdered man although he and Mary lived at WIGHTON, NORFOLK and he worked for Mr Mack as a teamerman) The jury, after due deliberation, found the prisoner Guilty. She was then commanded, and the learned judge, putting on the black cap proceeded to pass the following sentence ........ Since the delivery of this verdict a further enquiry was made by three surgeons, who made an affidavit that the prisoner was quick with child, A respite in consequence was of course granted to the prisoner until after her delivery.
