I'd like to trace phoebe Anne Evans (born circa 1870, nee Drake), who had a sister called Caroline Drake (born circa 1855). Phoebe married Edmund Evans who was a coal miner born in the sub district of Nottingham North West. Phoebe and Edmund had approx 6 children, Emma, Hilda, Arthur, Jack, Edna and Robert Peel. One of the Evans's was thought to be a chief jailer!! Emma married Henry Arthur Watson and had 3 children: Rita, Rex and Rose, Hilda married Gordon: 2 children Derek/Gerald, Arthur married Alice: 1 child Raymond, Jack married Mary: 2 children Daria/Michael, Edna married Edward ('Teddy'): adopted 1 child and Robert Peel married Sara Ellen (Nellie G): 1 child Donald (Godparent Gertrude Ada Annie Rhodes). Also the following people were buried at Basford Cemetry in Nottingham: We have an interrment card for Caroline Evans (nee drake), d.9.1.1933 aged 78 years buried Alice Evans, nee Killingley, d.4.2.1925 in NZealand aged 32. This lady was buried alongside Elizabeth Ann Watson (my mothers side of the family), d.26.2.1985 Eliza Evans b.circa 1844, d1914 (aged 70) Thomas Evans b.circa 1845, d.1926 (aged 81). E Barradale of Leicester was present at the christening of Emma, my grandmother. Can anyone help? Deborah

Hello Deborah,
My grandmother was Alice Beatrice Evans nee killingley who died in Te Aroha Waikato New Zealand 3 February 1925 @ the age of 33.

Her father was Robert Killingley but her mothers christian name was not given on her death certificate only the surname which was Watson.

My grandfathers name was Albert George Evans who died 26 October 1940, @ the age of 46 & he was the son of Robert & Mary Jane Evans.

Should you think that either of the above are the persons you are seeking please feel free to contact me............Allan Culpan New Zealand.

Allan - this is a very old posting you have brought to the fore - you could try to make contact with the poster via GR by message but she may no longer be a member

Hi Allan

welcome to the Boards.

Unfortunately, this thread is a very old one ............. 2004!!

It is very probable that Deborah no longer looks on the Boards.

and GR does NOT send notifications of new postings on threads.

May I suggest that you send her a pm (personal message). GR will then send her an email to say there is a message waiting in the internal message system.

Just click on her name, or on Send Message. Type your message, then click Submit.

Then all you have to do is hope that she still has the same email address that is on record with GR.

Good luck
