Elias Harrison , born around 1770 possibly in Cumberland, came to Scotland to work on the Caledonian Canal(1802-1820) He and his wife Margaret McLeay or McLean had a son Joseph near Fort William in 1812 and later moved to Coiltry, Fort Augustus where another son, John was Lock Keeper at Kytra. They also had daughters called Agnes, Sarah, Isabella and Mary. |
