JIMMY MORRELL BORN 29/3/1913 ON THE ISLE OF BUTE.SERVED AS A PARATROOPER INTHE 2ND WORLD WAR,A REAL CHARACTER RENOWED IN BUTE FOR HIS RENDITIONS OF TOO A HAGGIS AT THE LOCAL BURNS SUPPERS AND ALSO STATED HE WROTE THE FAMOUS SCOTS SONG THERE WAS A SOLIDER.BUT GAVE IT TO ANDY STEWART ONE NIGHT WHEN HE WAS A BIT ANEBRIATEDIN A LOCAL PUB A WONDERFUL MAN,SADLY DIED HOGMANAY 1982
