Trying to find descendents of Alfred Thompson, a merchant seaman from New Zealand, DOB unknown, year of death 1938 'he was run over and killed by a train in New Zealand'. He was my great grandfather and married my great nan Lilian Taylor, who worked in the docks in east London. They had many children, one of whom was my nan Alice (a twin) who has now sadly died. Lilian died and then so did Alfred, leaving my nan and her brothers and sisters orphans. Story has it that the family in New Zealand wanted the twin girls but wanted to separate them on 2 sheep farms in New Zealand. The remaining family in London did not want them separated and so they did not go. Because of the distance and the lack of phones in the 1930's and then war in the UK, communication was lost and we have not been able to trace them since. Please contact us as we would very much like to hear from our long lost Kiwi family. |
