Find Ancestors

I am looking for Thomas Davies,Born about 1880 in the uk i think,I have an address in hollingsworth Derbyshire,Address is on marraige certificate.He lived in Glossop after marraige and had 4 children.His wife was Catherine Price.John T Davies [my father] was about 6 months old when Thomas died in action in 1916.I am stuck here,as unless i can find were his father Edward Davies was born i cannot go any further have no idea if he had any brothers or sisters.There must be someone who knew the davies family in Glossop as its only a small place and Hollingworth is a village.I was hopeing that Edward Davies may have had relatives that maybe see this and connect the two.Also if anyone knows how to track people through libraries and church records i would be gratefull for assistance.its like looking for a needle in an haystack.John thomas had 3 sisters Helen/Eva/Beatty.
