Trying to find Bell

This is Laurel from NZ & I am trying to trace my Great-grandfather, Doctor James Bell's ancestors. He came to NZ in 1862 on the 'Matilda Wattenbach'.He was born 1836/1837 & married Henrietta Mary Turton in HongKong in 1859. Dr Bell’s parents names unknown but they had a farm called Sheriff-flats in ?Thankcreton, Lanarkshire & I think he had an older brother William who was married & lived on this farm too, and a sister Margaret Bell who married a Walter Gibson. Dr Bell’s father was possibly ?William & his mother was possibly ?Ann Bell [nee Wilson]. Two of Dr James Bell’s eight children Florence & May were born in ?Southern England when Dr Bell was practising there for two years before they left for NZ. The other six children, Laura, Roland, Mildred, Lucy, Norman & Harold were born in NZ. Dr Bell died a tragic death in NZ in 1870 & his widow & the eight children sailed back to England & Scotland. I am having a problem trying to trace: 1.Where Dr James Bell was born 2.Who his actual parents & grandparents on both his paternal & maternal sides were. 3.Who his siblings were. I think one brother was Thomas. Would appreciate it if you could e-mail back via Genesreunited if you can help. Thanking you in anticipation. Happy Easter Regards Laurel
