Hi, I'm trying to find more info on my g-grandfather JOHN TAYLOR (I know, sorry!) and his parents George and Elizabeth. JOHN was born in Billinge,Lancs. (from census information). He was a collier. DOB probably between 23.02.1844 and 31.03.1844 (age 7 in 1851 census, age given as 24 on marriage cert. dated 22.02.1869, but of course either of these could be inaccurate). Married Elizabeth Sephton in Prescot in 1869. Died before 1891 census and Elizabeth re-married in 1892 to James Cheetham. GEORGE was born in Billinge c1823 and was a stonemason. Still alive at 1851 census but dead by 1861. ELIZABETH (John's mother) was born in Billinge c1822. After George's death Elizabeth re-married James Aspinall. I would like to find birth/death certificates for John and also a marriage certificate for George and Elizabeth. I've tried 4 births for a John Taylor from LancsBMD but none have the right parents (refs WIG/12/183; WIG/12/474; WIG/16/19; WIG16/197). Any help very gratefully received! Thanks, Helen. |
