Trying to find the ALLEN family history from South Shields England. I have Marriage Certificate 20th January 1862 for Mark ALLEN & Jane McDonald (Widow) in Scotts Church Sydney Australia. Mark Allen listed Birthplace South Shields England Occupation Mariner and Jane McDonald (Widow) listed birthplace County Armagh Ireland. Mark parents listed as Mark Allen Occupation Shipwright & Esther Elliott and Jane's Parents listed as Thomas Atkinson (Farmer) & Elizabeth Taggart. James Gibb and Kate Atkinson were witnesses. Mark Listed his age as 31 and Jane 27 in 1862. They had a son Mark born 5th June 1864. If you can help please contact, it looks as if there was a large community of Allen's in South Shields with 82 Allen's listed alive in 1841 Census Results. |
