Hi, my name is Joan Kennett, I am trying to find anyone on my mothers side of the family. Her name was Joyce Edith Kate (nee Martin) she married my Dad and became a Kennett in 1948 then died a few days after giving birth to me in 1955. My elder brother (now sadly deceased) and I were then sent to live with our maternal grandmother in Wistleigh Avenue, Coulsdon, Surrey (I think) for 3½ years until my Dad remarried. There was a big falling out within the family at that time and nobody ever spoke about it again. I have no knowledge of anyone on my mums side of the family at all, only that they didnt want to give us back to my Dad. I have a vague memory of being very fond of an Uncle Frank but know from photos that mum had lots of brothers & sisters. Her fathers name was George William Martin but I cant find him on the 1901 census, he was still alive when they married in 1948. Is there anyone out there who may be wondering what happened to us? |
