Please help me put an end to some confusion.

My great grandfather is Ernest Hill dob 1883. He died in 1939.

According to one source he married a Francis Barton Aug 1914 in Christ Church, Beswick, Manchester, Lancashire, England and had one child called Albert Ellis Hill dob. This source has all the correct information regarding my family tree but the Francis Barton. I think there is possibility that Ernest remarried to Ann and had Vera???? Confusion there. I would say this source had the wrong information but all the addresses etc fit?

According to my distant cousin Ernest married Ann Boardham and had two children Albert and Vera. My cousin has the marriage cert to prove this. Can anyone help me please? I am unable to find the parents of my GG Grandfather Ernest Hill as well. Ongoing confusion with this one?

Hi Lisa

Not sure if this is of any help but my grandfather was Ernest Hill 1910 the name Ellis keeps coming to mind and I have seen it somewhere. He married Lizzie Keene 1908 they lived in Hendon I think and then moved to Luton in Bedfordshire. They had a daughter called Margaret and Joyce 2 sons called Raymond and Derrick and an adopted daughter called Margaret. regards Denise

I know its a bit of a long shot but is your Earnest Hill related to the late Benny Hill comedian. If so let me know.

Sorry not the same Ernest Hill. I have since found out that my Ernest married a Ann Boardham not a Francis Barton. This has slight confused matters. As one source is adamant on his info and the other source on there.

My Ernest had 2 children one Albert Ellis and Vera Majorie. Now just to find out the wife story.
