Hi Julia

Firstly I agree with what you have said but in all fairness to Allison she did not start this thread Tina did in 2007 .

Dif member no for Tina and Allison.

I do think Trying to find board is the best but there is no information on this thread for her so why should she delete the Records thread .
Only Tina can delete this one.

I don't go on Chat .

I have not seen this request on the boards before and I am on everyday

Alison, what I mean is, keep your query to one board. Do not put the same query on Trying To Find, Records and Chat,, as you have done over the last three days.
When you have posted on a board, come back to it regularly, to thank those that have contributed to it, and to answer any further questions they may have for you, to help with the research.
Just because you have not got the answers from one board that you want, please do not go on another, and ask the same question.
Please remember, the researchers are not employed by GR. They are fee paying members, just the same as you and I. The only difference is, they have been here longer, and know the ropes of research, and may belong to other sites, which they can access for further information.
At the end of the day, they are doing it out the goodness of their heart, and their interest in Geneology.
I have explained this to you on Monday, by PM.
Now that you are back on this thread, I would make note of the information already given you by Susan on the Records board, and delete the thread. Any further questions you have, post on this thread, which you obviously have now decided that you know how to access, hence your question to me.
If you help people, they will help you, so long as you adhere to the T & C rules.

Sue in Leeds, I know what you mean. Despite my message on the thread put up this morning on Records, nobody is taking any notice, with Alison continuing to post on it, and disregard what I said about accessing this thread. Also a researcher is continuing to post her finds. Nobody has read what I have put. No wonder Ann of GG, puts up messages to this effect on a regular basis
I despair.

Posting on Chat board. today also. Also in Search Trees, there are six other entries for a George Tabone, but for more recent dates. Could be a grandson. Worth following, for a lead.

"I am not certain, but would GUESS that from the surname,Tabone should really be TA' BONE, meaning from Bone, where Bone is a town in ALGERIA. Incidentally, this same town is also called BONA in ITALIAN. If this is so, are the TABONE (Ta' Bone) related to the TABONA (Ta' Bona)?"

Tabone Name Meaning and History
probably an occupational name from Arabic ?tabuna, denoting a kind of hollowed-out hearth in which a fire was kept alight.

Hi Tina
Sorry I can't help with the history. I was curious about your forebears. My cousin Margaret Swan married Victor Tabone, and although I'm not in contact with her my father is. She lives in St Neots.
Any chance you're related?
Regards
Jeannie
