Hi - I am trying to trace my g/g/grandparents - They came from CLADDAGHDUFF, CO. GALWAY, IRELAND. They were CATHERINE DAVIS and DANIEL FINNERTY both were born around 1880 - they never married and had a daughter called MARY TERESA FINNERTY (MOLLIE). DANIEL FINNERTY emigrated to America around 1904 leaving CATHERINE DAVIS behind. Mollie was adopted by her uncle and aunt - RICHARD DAVIS c1837 Farmer Claddaghduff MARY DAVIS c1839 They had two of their own children ANTHONY b1869 and MARY b1861. RICHARD DAVIS' father was ANTHONY DAVIS - if any of this rings a bell with someone (especially if you live around the CLADDAGHDUFF / CLIFDEN parishes in CO. GALWAY - please get in touch. Many thanks Olly Foat |
