Trying to find Green

I am trying to find out more about my husband's Gt'grandfather, William GREEN. In the 1881 Census (taken on the night of 3/4 April 1881) he is listed as 29 years old (giving him a poss birth year of 1852) and born at Clay Cross in Derbyshire and living with his wife, Abigail and son, William with his Mother- and sister-in-law at 2 Alfred Place Granby St, Leicester. He married Abigail Wilkinson on 03 Oct 1872 in Leicester. He died 15 Aug 1888 in Leicester and is listed in the Deaths register as being 35 years old (giving him a pos birth year of 1853. Between the 1881 Census record (poss birth year 1852) and his death record (poss birth year 1853) I am led to believe he was born between 4 April and 15 Aug 1853. The 5 William Greens I could find born in the Jun or Sept Qtrs of 1853 are either born in Basford, Chesterfield or Mansfield. Does anyone know if Clay Cross is anywhere near these towns?? His father was George GREEN and his mother was possibly Anne (maiden name unknown) Any information would be most welcome! ************************************ To all those kind folk who have advised the whereabouts of Clay Cross, I thank you so much! I can now safely search for William at Chesterfield - and there's only one that fits the bill, so here's hoping it's him! Thanks once again! Jack and Jill
